i dont like seeing a jason mraz show being succesful on the archive so i give it bad reviews because it makes me mad

Please don't do this. It's really not cool. The curators will have to remove these reviews and it just creates more work for everyone.

the thing about this music archive is that it doesn't claim to be "a collection of the best music out there". what it IS trying to be is a large collection of live music. whether the music is good or bad is subjective and is beside the point.

some musicians aren't at the same level as the other ones here. i play acoustic guitar at a coffee shop every week. lately i've been thinking about picking up a recording device to record my sets and then post them here. i'm far from the best performer(s) represented in the archive, but i like to thing that i could contribute to the community on this website and maybe inspire someone that has similiar taste.

if i posted some of my shows and then came here and saw crappy reviews i'd be like 'what's the point?' and feel less inclined to post more stuff - all because one person didn't care for it. while there may be a bunch of people that found it amusing for one listen. also with a bad review no one will give my stuff a chance.

if the folks that use this site really are interested in promoting and sharing live music, then they will be offering 'constructive' criticism. there is definitly a difference between offering an informed critique and offering an insult. recognizing that will help this site and it's community continue to grow so we can all enjoy.

thank you,
chowder

I totally agree, if it's constructive critisicm...then that's great, but if it's stuff that is just like "oh god, this is stupid" than it's not being constructive, and we don't want it here. Sorry, but just be respectful, not only of the musician, but of the people who enjoy that musicians music. It's just being nice and respectful, I am not going to sit and bash Phish, I don't like there music, but I am not going to go to a Phish forum and be like "oh my god, phish sucks and your all losers!"......just because I don't like someones music, doesn't mean I am going to sit down and bash them....that's just wrong.

Wheter I like the artist or not, I will always respect them for allowing us access to their music for FREE! After all, how many bands out there put the music and their fans ahead of money!

aaall right alll right all right. the music is sounding so nice.

this dead show is just fine for listening. the jack straw at the beginning of the first set is real nice because it's fast, short, and tite. dire wolf, wang dand doodle, very nice and slow tite row jimmy, box of rain, crazy fingers and the songs in between those songs arn't bad either.
